It turns out, Penelope was already in love with Alastair Adams. She kept slipping his name in conversation the whole time they dined.

“Llamas that was Wilfred Adamson. And Penelope Pepper!” thought Theodora Jayne as she came out of the restaurant.

-she was just reading his article about Penelope and her family on her laptop inside and looked up and there they were.

Wilfred followed her out. He clicked on her to talk to her. Flute music played and the ole pop-up told him she was interested.

He went right over to her, so she quickly put her laptop away.

“Excuse me, were you laughing at us?” Wilfred demanded.

“Hoh! No! I .. I’m just a little bit star struck, you’re Wilfred Adamson, I .. I’m Childish, I can’t help myself”

Penelope sat behind them, waiting for Wilfred. She wanted to get back home in time to get Alastair’s nightly call.

“Oh. Well yes I am, you’ve heard about me?” said Wilfred shyly.

“I read your articles all the time”

Wilfred was curious.

The game told them, they have matching traits, Bookworm and Handy.

With that Theodora went to leave.

“What did Miss Jayne say? She was one of my teachers at school”

“Ah, nothing, just about work” he told Penelope.

“Listen, Penelope” he pained to try to say, “Hmm?” she asked.

“I just don’t know that we’re all that compatible” he tried.

“Aw, Wilfred, don’t get upset about it, no hard feelings hey?” she tried to console him, “Let’s just be friends OK?”

“Huh?” he asked, confused – that was his line.

“Alastair is just too much of a man to compete with, it’s not your fault, it’s nobody’s” she tried.

“That’s right I’m not” he agreed.

“There there” she said, edging away to leave, as he added a drama sniffle.

They both went home, their separate ways.
