This is Wilfred Adamson
He’s just started a new life in Sunlit Tides. He may make a bit of a legacy.
It won’t be strict.
Wilfred came from a household I made as an extra for Roaring Heights. Back then he had red hair, but I like to start a family with brown or black hair. I get entertained by seeing which recessive genes from their spouses appear in the children. Same goes for brown eyes, but Wilfred has blue-grey.
He has kept his old fashioned wardrobe, because he did enjoy those times, and still holds some of the values and ideas. He sports a leather apron because he is a Vehicle Enthusiast and is Handy, and green shoes because that is his favourite colour.
His other traits are:
- Genius
- Bookworm and
- Great Kisser.
His other favourites are:
- Goopy Carbonara and
- Rockabilly
His life-time wish is:
- To become a Star Anchor, to reach the top of the Journalist career.
His star sign is
- Sagittarius, although star signs only seem to play a part in having something compatible, rather than affecting Sims 3 sims’ personalities.
Some of Wilfred’s new neighbours are sim-bin sims I also made for Roaring Heights, as well as a pair of brothers born in game to a CAS sim I had in Riverview, their dad was Billy –- I like to fill up the vacant houses with my own sims, so’s there’s no room for the game to move in any.. undesirables. When he eventually comes across his old pals he doesn’t remember, will he make unions with them, or will he be drawn more to the Sunlit Tides premade residents, townies or even NPC’s?
Wilfred has the 50×50 lot near the consignment store. Sunlit Tides has two, more traditional sized 64×64 lots but they don’t have the special letterbox. The one 50 lot does. I don’t know how to access the special letterboxes in build/buy.

Usually I would now pause Wilfred while building him a basic start of a house with his unaltered starting funds, a little over 10K after buying this lot.
But Wilfred is a Genius.
He had a better idea.
He got on his phone straight away and called the university
“Don’t you want to take the aptitude test and apply for a scholarship first?” the call centre asked him. “That’s so kind of you Sir, but I’m a brand new sim, I don’t have any skills or job experience yet, and the mascot with the free kit will take at least another hour to get here” he explained, “I really want to just get right onto it, and I do have the funds right now”.

So Wilfred packed his bag to welcome meat truck
He was so eager to get in he accidentally shut the door on his bag.
The driver took him off to a two-week stint at university for 12 credits towards a Communications degree. This way he’ll only have one class a day, and plenty of spare time to build his skills. He will do this four times back-to-back, and each time he returns, he’ll have points for a scholarship, and probably make a profit. The term is instant in Sunlit Tides time, and so hopefully by the end of the fourth, he’ll still have time to upload his resume and start at the newspaper in the morning. If he manages to max out his Handiness skill at university, he’ll be able to build/buy his house at a discount, which is the reward for maxing Handiness.

What he didn’t see in time, as his lot trailed off behind him over the hill, were his new neighbours arriving to move in next door. Their house is the basic Victorian supplied by the game’s lot bin, with much of it downgraded to make it affordable to them. When story progression makes them richer, I’ll give them a nicer one.
They are the Rock household. On the left is Cecilia Rock and her mother Marsha. On the right are Monica Young and her mother Patricia. Their mothers are sisters. This was so that CAS would recognise Cecilia and Monica as cousins. I wanted them to be for strategic reasons.

The meat truck transformed into a helicopter. “We’re at University!” the driver-pilot shouted above the thump-thump of the blades, “Where do you want to live?” he asked Wilfred.
“Oh! A dormitory! That one please Sir!” Wilfred pointed excitedly, “it’s right next to the library!”
***
Wilfred chose the bedroom on the first floor of the dorm, next to the mens’ bathroom. He locked the door to allow only himself, got rid of the low end beds, and used up nearly half of his starting funds to fit it out with better needs-boosting items, in a colour theme he believed he could take home and fit in with his future planned house. The bed was the most important, he doesn’t want to be wasting half his days trying to get enough sleep.
He’s betting on that he’ll make back what he spent, because he plans on using his spare time to build not only his Handiness skill, but also Writing, which is required for Communications and the Journalist career. He thinks he’ll make a bit of a motza on book royalties, and hopefully before Sunday pay-time arrives in Sunlit Tides.
Why has he got a fishtank?
Originally he was being played in Lucky Palms, where the only way to fish for tuna and then lobster was at university, then put two in the tank to breed. Now he doesn’t need to at Sunlit Tides but he still likes having it – sushi is a good non-stove and therefore non-fire meal to make, even better when it’s free.

The meat truck come helicopter dropped Wilfred off at the ‘grand’ entrance of the dormitory. His new roommates were gathered to move in too. He didn’t bother with any of them, they were mostly Rebels and Nerds. He had a first things first mission to take anyway! He clicked on himself, because he is a Bookworm, and ran for..
The library.
In the past my sims have found that no matter what they do to try and make up for it, if they don’t read the text book, they fail. So all of my sims do this straight away, sped along slightly by the ‘power study’ moodlet of the library.
Stupid university library doesn’t have any skill books. The only skill Wilfred can work on for free there is Writing. He crossed out the Meet and Greet and got onto that. He’s aiming for the Romance genre – it pays a 4 digit sum royalty.
I suppose he could work on Logic by playing computer chess, and Charisma in the toilet.

Before bedtime got too late, Wilfred ran around the campus to harvest the wild fruit and vegetables so he can grow and make free Autumn salad, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and after reading the recipe when the bookshop has a sale, fruit parfait.
You don’t need onion Wilfred, not even for an inventory snack.
He did when he needed to catch tuna.
Lettuce for Autumn salad is to the left of the art class front doors.
